History
Urban Nature’s humble roots can be traced to the boundless imagination of a creative young wildlife enthusiast. By age 12, founder Troy Silva was already spending his entire allowance on constructing elaborate habitats ranging from vibrant saltwater aquariums to lush rainforest terrariums. All the while, Troy dreamed of the day he could transform his entire home into a sanctuary for exotic plants & animals from around the world.
Ultimately, Troy’s dream motivated him to complete Cornell’s prestigious Landscape Architecture program as well as a remarkable apprenticeship designing luxurious residences and award-winning exhibits at San Diego’s famous Zoo & Wild Animal Park. Brimming with inspiration and too free spirited for a desk job, Troy soon relocated to Los Angeles to launch Urban Nature. Since then, Urban Nature’s premium modern planters & fashionable ecological arrangements have earned the company an extensive following of design savvy clientele throughout the US and all over the world.
Inspiration
Inspired by the juxtaposition of modern, clean forms and the intricacies of the natural world, landscape designer Troy Silva founded Urban Nature to bring chic design to outdoor spaces. His collection of contemporary planters beautifully offset their organic surroundings to create a distinctive elegance.
Troy’s love for landscape design is truly evident in his work. He knows just how to create exterior spaces that are as sophisticated in their feeling and presentation as the most carefully considered living room or entrance hall.
